His efforts to save Maine’s lobster industry two years ago is a big reason the senator deserves reelection on Nov. 5.
Two years ago, we almost lost Maine’s lobster industry. The National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) attempted to create regulations, lacking scientific evidence, that would have decimated our fishery.
Sen. Angus King understood the need for congressional action to protect our way of life. In the days leading up to the vote, he worked with our industry and across the aisle to insert a six-year delay of this regulation into the federal spending bill.
This was no small task, but Angus worked tirelessly to avert this disaster. I know because I worked closely with him and his team. That is the kind of senator we need: someone who will work hard to get things done. People do not come to Maine to eat chicken; thanks to Angus, they won’t have to. Please join me and vote for Angus on Nov. 5.
