AUBURN, ME – U.S. Senator Angus King (I-Maine) today joined supporters, volunteers and Maine people from around Androscoggin County and throughout the state for the Grand Opening of Senator King’s Auburn Field Office. The Auburn Field Office will be a base for people in the Lewiston/Auburn area to spread the word about Senator King’s accomplishments for Maine and its citizens during his time in public office and to reach out to Maine voters through phone banking and canvassing in the area.

“The strong sense of community in Lewiston/Auburn is a perfect example of what makes Maine, Maine,” Senator King said. “It’s dedicated people coming together to help their neighbors and their communities. I’m so grateful to the good folks who came out in Auburn tonight and I know we can work together to harness this collective excitement and push forward to support Maine people, create jobs, care for our families, and strengthen our Maine community.”

“Throughout his time in public office, Senator King has proven himself an ethical, intelligent leader,” said Christine Gianopoulos, a county chair for Androscoggin County. “He understands the needs of rural Maine and has helped improve the lives of people in Androscoggin County and throughout our state, and the many supporters who turned out in Auburn tonight is proof positive of his work. I’m proud to support Senator King, and I will work for him as he has worked for us.”
